For context: "Some people hurt so much that they wish they'd do something to deserve the pain and shame they've felt. Why? Because they don't understand where it truly came from, why it happened, or what they can meaningfully do about it." http://lighttelecommunication.blogspot.com/2012/12/mit-humor-mental-illness-and-our.html
To walk through a route to intervening (a sort of solution!), the biggest challenge comes from either:
1) recognizing/articulating the source of the attacks (making it something tangible I/a suffering individual can engage) and why I'm feeling like my mind's attacking itself
2) remembering to transition it from attack to recognizing how it fits into the framework of my sense of purpose (quickly reframing from defensive/passive/receiver/feeling like a victim to offensive/proactive/conscientious intention/doing something about it)
