Shallow and disjointed observations from various films

During this holiday break, I've been privileged to lay back long enough to even see bits of a few movies, especially since my mum is a movie buff.  I offer you the following observations:
  • Why is the newest Karate Kid movie about kung fu?

  • Mothra was a decent being and kept promises.

This last one is nit-picky, but some things need to be called out by ear:

  • There's an audio goof in the Bourne Identity.
I'll explain.

When Jason runs with a shotgun and scans a field for movement as he seeks out a Treadstone assassin ("The Professor") in a meadow.  The geographical setting is a European countryside (French?) in the morning, and the birds are singing.  Among them, you can clearly hear an Eastern Wood Peewee (the link goes to Cornell's species account).

Either the scene took place in North America (the bird is native to this continent), or someone hastily took stock audio from the U.S. outdoors and put it into the scene.

This scene merits attention for other reasons, but I have a hard time articulating my thoughts about it since it' captures a mix of fairly violent and heavy moments.
